Monday Mindset: Choosing Calm, Creating Change through the practice of SURRENDER

Monday Mindset: Choosing Calm, Creating Change through the practice of SURRENDER

February 18, 20262 min read

How do we transform ourselves and our day-to-day living that creates peace and calm within?
In order for our hearts, minds…, and our days to have peace and calm, we must choose to insert/prioritize a practice that offers peace and calm in the midst of our circumstances.

Yep, I know it, here we go — accountability.

CHOOSING to prepare for the day by beginning with SURRENDER, GRATITUDE and PRAYER invites peace and calm in.

Transformation is a process. It takes practice — just like the practice SURRENDER.
Progress not perfection — the practice of SURRENDER, GRATITUDE and PRAYER THROUGHOUT EACH DAY is where real transformation is able to take place.

I recently received a note that said:
“Dear Carroll, I’m feeling overwhelmed by day-to-day tasks. There’s so much going on I can’t even bring myself to do the laundry. Any advice?”

PAUSE. SURRENDER that there is too much going on for you at this time.
SURRENDER this statement to Him.
Be GRATEFUL for the overwhelming day/time in your life and the opportunity to come to Him.
And PRAY for peace and calm that can only come from Him; for the energy to just do the next right thing.
If we are humbly asking, He is answering.
Yes, sometimes with our human condition, we may not ‘feel’ or ‘see’ what He is doing in that exact moment.

*** Also remember, the GREATEST practice and show of STRENGTH is reaching out for help. Your need is often an answer for someone else’ cry for purpose in their day, in their life.

Stay in the present moment, this is where He is with you.

With grateful heart, love and prayers,
Carroll 💙

Scripture Reflection:

Matthew 11:28–30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Inspiring Quotes for Your Week:

  • Mother Teresa: “Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.” (Heather use this one for a social media quote/post)

  • James Clear: “Every action you take is a vote for the person you are becoming.”

  • Thich Nhat Hanh: “Feelings come and go like clouds in a windy sky. Conscious breathing is my anchor.”
